Condition & Provenance
Supplied in Good condition, with its original Canadian-made Gibson Case, this clean example presents in it's original state with no repairs or modifications. Lacquer checking throughout the finish, small dents and light scratches, oxidation to the hardware and a 2" area to the side, between the strap button and jack socket, has gracefully worn through to the finish. You can see the original Speed Knobs has started to yellow nicely due to UV exposure.
A full, in-house, set-up had been carried out, which includes a fret dress and the guitar plays and intonates well across the fretboard. Part of the set-up process includes confirming originality and function of all parts. Since carrying out the fret dress, the original frets still have plenty of life left in them, measuring on average 0.33"
Description
In a lesser spotted Wine Red finish, this SG features a small '61-style pickguard - combined with the larger '70's headstock. Thanks to a combination of a 60's Slim Taper neck profile and a 12" Radius the guitar plays effortlessly. A duo of Original Gibson 'Tarbacks' gives this SG lots of bite - perfect for cutting through the mix and for lowered tuning.

About Us
About Us
Welcome to Cody’s Guitars, where passion, craftsmanship, and decades of musical experience come together. Founded in 2017, our shop is built on nearly 20 years in the musical retail industry, and a lifelong love for guitars and the people who play them.
Our Story
Cody’s Guitars began with a simple mission: to create a space where musicians of all levels feel supported, inspired, and genuinely taken care of. After spending almost two decades working hands-on in the industry, we wanted to build something that focused on quality, honesty, and real musical connection. What started as a small idea quickly grew into a trusted local hub for players seeking gear, guidance, and a friendly place to talk shop.
What We Do
We specialise in guitars, pedals, and amplifiers, offering a curated range chosen for tone, reliability, and feel. Whether you’re hunting for your first guitar, upgrading your rig, or chasing that one perfect sound, we’re here to help you find the right match.
Alongside retail, we also provide guitar lessons, tailored for beginners, seasoned players, and everyone in between. Our teaching approach is patient, practical, and focused on helping you grow at your own pace.
Our Values
- High Standards: From the gear we sell to the services we offer, quality is non-negotiable.
- Expertise: With nearly two decades of industry experience, we know our craft inside out.
- Community: We’re here for musicians — to support, encourage, and share the joy of playing.

- Why We’re Different
At Cody’s Guitars, we pride ourselves on a high standard of work in everything we do. We take time with each customer, making sure you leave not just with the right gear, but with the confidence and excitement to play it. This isn’t just a shop — it’s a place where musicians can grow, connect, and feel at home.
