The V6MRHDX is a psychedelic tone machine that evokes the spirit of rock and roll in the late Sixties.

Thomas Blug explains: "I wanted a guitar that looked cool, like Hendrix's, but with all the features of my modern day signature guitar." In keeping with Thomas' requests, the V6MRHDX is equipped with the same top quality specs as both his treasured '61 and his original Vintage signature V6 guitar; meticulously aged parts simulate years of wear and tear, while the 7.5" fingerboard radius, sophisticated switching and hum-cancelling wiring of Blug's Vintage signature is replicated. Authentic 60s style aluminium shielding under the scratchplate reduces hum and static noise, while Thomas' 'Bukka' switch provides access to extra tones via a push-push tone control.

Imbued with the sense of freedom for creative expression that embodied the age by which it was inspired, the V6MRHDX 'Summer of Love' also features a reversed headstock and eye-catching, hand-applied graphics specially created by German artist Daniel Hahn.

V6MRHDX Features:

Body:
American alder body provides resonance, tone and 'correct weight' comfort, enhanced with correctly radiused contoured body.

Vibrato:
The Wilkinson WVC vibrato bridge featured on the Vintage V6 is a masterpiece of detail. Positive location, 6 screw design provides return to pitch accuracy; perpendicular bend, high grade steel saddles enhance tonality and 'snap'. Ground base plate corner provides authentic looks. Stagger drilled cast block significantly enhances return to pitch accuracy and classic vintage tone. The 'push-in' Delrin-bushed arm with variable tension provides the arm feel that suits your style.

Pickups:
Balanced set of Wilkinson WVS vintage-voiced Alnico V pickups, fitted to a shielded pickguard, with staggered, chamfered edge pole pieces, for authentic tone and contemporary power. Reverse wound, reverse polarity centre pickup provides hum-cancelling in switch positions 2 and 4.

Controls:
Master Volume control, reversed position tone controls for neck pickup and middle pickup, with bridge pickup wired traditionally with no tone control. The neck tone control features the Bukka™ control, on a push/push switch pot, which engages a dummy out of phase coil, serially mixed with regular pickup signal, reducing noise and producing a smoother and more stable tone — particularly in hi-gain sounds, where it can also function as a filter, enhancing the range of tones available.

Machine Heads:
Wilkinson WJ55 patented E-Z-Lok tuners. Simple, effective locking action for increased tuning stability. Staggered string post heights provide correct string rake angle for smooth vibrato action and correct playing tension.

Neck:
Hard rock Maple with classic Vintage 'soft C' profile for instant comfort, speed, accuracy and great feel.

Fingerboard:
7.5" radius Rosewood fingerboard provides positive feel and superior playability.

Frets:
21 medium profile frets increase comfort, accuracy and overall positive feel of the Vintage V6.

Scale Length:
25.5" / 648mm.

Nut:
43mm GraphTech® nut, facilitates smooth string bending and friction-free vibrato use.

Headstock:
Classic Vintage headstock design for balance and visual appeal.

The V6MRHDX Thomas Blug signature guitar is an original Vintage® ICON Series™ guitar created by Thomas Blug and the UK Vintage design team.

About Us

About Us

Welcome to Cody’s Guitars, where passion, craftsmanship, and decades of musical experience come together. Founded in 2017, our shop is built on nearly 20 years in the musical retail industry, and a lifelong love for guitars and the people who play them.

Our Story

Cody’s Guitars began with a simple mission: to create a space where musicians of all levels feel supported, inspired, and genuinely taken care of. After spending almost two decades working hands-on in the industry, we wanted to build something that focused on quality, honesty, and real musical connection. What started as a small idea quickly grew into a trusted local hub for players seeking gear, guidance, and a friendly place to talk shop.

What We Do

We specialise in guitars, pedals, and amplifiers, offering a curated range chosen for tone, reliability, and feel. Whether you’re hunting for your first guitar, upgrading your rig, or chasing that one perfect sound, we’re here to help you find the right match.

Alongside retail, we also provide guitar lessons, tailored for beginners, seasoned players, and everyone in between. Our teaching approach is patient, practical, and focused on helping you grow at your own pace.

Our Values

  • High Standards: From the gear we sell to the services we offer, quality is non-negotiable.
  • Expertise: With nearly two decades of industry experience, we know our craft inside out.
  • Community: We’re here for musicians — to support, encourage, and share the joy of playing.
  • Integrity: Honest advice, fair prices, and genuine care for every customer who walks through the door.
  • Why We’re Different

At Cody’s Guitars, we pride ourselves on a high standard of work in everything we do. We take time with each customer, making sure you leave not just with the right gear, but with the confidence and excitement to play it. This isn’t just a shop — it’s a place where musicians can grow, connect, and feel at home.
